Utah Trip

We went to Utah to introduce Jack to his family there and to bless him.  Jack did very well on the airplane.  On the way there his mother had to stand up for the full 4 hours so that he could see everything that was going on but luckily on the way home he slept most of the time. We had a great time in Utah.  It went by so fast and there are several people that we were unable to see (next trip to Utah, hopefully in May). Jack was introduced to many friends and family.  He met all of his great grandparents, great aunts and uncles, cousins once removed (I  think that is what you call them:)), and his mother's childhood friends.  It was also great to see some of my missionary companions.  Shawn came into town for a couple of days and we went snowmobiling with my mom's side of the family.  It was perfect weather.  Shawn is starting to realize that snow is not so bad (now I just need to figure out how to get him skiing....).  Jack was blessed in his grandma's ward and Shawn gave a wonderful blessing.  His grandma Janice had a wonderful dinner at her house after the blessing.  Thanks mom for making the day so special! Jack's Grandma Morris and the Goldstein-Roberts family flew in for the blessing.  What a lucky guy! Jack loved all the attention he got in Utah.  It seemed like every time Jack coughed, cooed, smiled, cried there was someone there to make a fuss over him.  Jack is so lucky to have so many people who love and support him. Here are some pics of the highlights of our trip.

Jack's Favorite Place

Okay, we all have our favorite places to think, meditate, and just get away from it all.  Well, Jack's favorite place to be is his changing table.  Every time we put Jack on his changing table he starts smiling and his legs and arms go about 100 miles per hour.  He will coo at his friends (Elsie the Elephant and Jerry the Giraffe, who are located above the changing) for several minutes.  If his mother tries to interrupt his conversation with them he gets very upset.  Anyway we just think it is funny that he loves his changing table so much and wanted you all to see Jack in his paradise. Please don't mind the uneven pictures above the changing table (to be fixed) and the uneven picture that was taken.  Not sure who took these pics......

2 month update and more

Jack had his 2 month check up yesterday. As part of the check up, he got his first shots. I felt so bad for him! The nurse told me to hold his arms and talk to him to comfort him. Both the nurse and I were talking to him and Jack was smiling and cooing, so happy to get so much attention and them BAM the crying started. Jack was so mad, how could these nice ladies hurt him. Jack has been pretty fussy and he has not slept much since his shots. He just wants to be held. He is one healthy boy though. He is in the 85th percentile for both weight and height. His head circumference is in the 49th percentile.

The swing has been the best investment ever! As you can tell, Jack loves his swing and so do his parents!
Jack's first love. Shawn and I try so hard to get Jack to smile. We are super excited when we get a "one dimple smile." We did not think he could smile voluntarily until Telia came along. She held Jack and Jack started smiling (a two dimple smile) and cooing at her for a couple of minutes. Shawn and I were shocked! Telia said "don't you just love when babies coo at you" I said "I don't know, he has never done that before." Jack was caught in the act! Now his parents expect him to do more smiling, however; we still have to work very hard.

We tried a Brazilian restaurant and it was sooooo good!
